MARCH 2016 EVENTS CALENDAR:
- BLACK CUISINE FESTIVAL – The Bay Area’s biggest lip-smacking, finger-lickin’ soul food celebration, will take place on Saturday, March 5th, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the 36th Annual Black Cuisine Festival in San Francisco’s Bayview Hunters Point, located at 1706 Yosemite Ave at Third Street.
- JEWISH MUSIC FESTIVAL – The mission of the Jewish Music Festival is to present music that celebrates the Jewish experience and explores what it means to be Jewish in a multicultural world. The Festival produces creative and entertaining programs, challenges stereotypes, and fosters engagement with the broader community. Mar 5-22, 2016
- OCEAN FILM FESTIVAL – Showcasing dozens of films from around the world, the 13th Annual San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival (SFIOFF) at the Cowell Theater in Fort Mason brings the power and mystery of the ocean to the beautiful San Francisco waterfront. Mar 10-13, 2016
- CAAM (FORMERLY ASIA AMERICAN) FILM FESTIVAL) – The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to presenting stories that convey the richness and diversity of Asian American experiences to the broadest audience possible. We do this by funding, producing, distributing and exhibiting works in film, television and digital media. Mar 10-20, 2016
- BAY AREA BREW FESTIVAL – With so many wine tastings and pairings, it’s ’bout time for SF to have another beer festival. The 5th Annual Bay Area Brew Festival follows last year’s sold out event and this year’s promises to be even bigger and better. The event will feature dozens of international and domestic beers, SF’s best food trucks (food sold separately) and will take place at Pier 35. The event will feature two sessions, with general admission for $45 and $55 for VIP. Both include unlimited beer, with VIP admission including an added hour with specialty beers. Mar 12, 2016
- ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE – 165th San Francisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival. Starts at 2nd and Market and concludes at the Civic Center Plaza where the Festival is held. Take BART and Muni. Jerry Boyle will officiate as the Grand Marshal of the 2016 St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Mike Durkan, Ed McGovern and Maggie McGovern will be remembered as Honorary Grand Marshals. On this 100th anniversary, the men and women of the 1916 Easter Rising will be celebrated by naming the signatories of the Proclamation as Honorary Grand Marshals: Padraig Pearse, James Connolly, Thomas Clarke, Thomas McDonagh, Sean McDermott, Joseph Plunkett and Eamonn Ceant. - ASK A SCIENTIST: PI DAY – Ask a Scientist is a casual, educational, entertaining lecture series that takes place at cafes and other informal venues around San Francisco. - UNION ST. EASTER PARADE – San Francisco –Union Street celebrates 25 fabulous years at the familyfriendly 25th Annual Easter Parade & Spring Celebration in San Francisco on Sunday, March 27 from 10am – 5pm. Set on Union Street, between Gough and Fillmore Streets in San Francisco’s renowned historic shopping district, the Easter Parade & Spring Celebration is considered to be a one-of-a-kind street fair and parade that is anything but average or formal. A fun-filled day for the whole family, packed with free events, live performances, delicious food and the ever-so-popular Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Contest.
